Color Trends for 2020

Whether you’re looking at building a home or remodeling, you might want to pay attention to the color trends for 2020. Although virtually every paint manufacturer releases their color or color pallet of the year every year, there are a few things that have remained fairly constant over the past few years. Those are earth tones and greys. Here are a few ways to incorporate a modern color pallet into your new home or remodeling project.

Kitchens

Kitchen remodeling remains one of the most popular remodels. If you look at Behr’s color of the year and the pallets from the other paint manufacturers, you’ll see that earth tones and subtle colors are most popular. Whether you’re looking at natural wood cabinets or painted cabinets, you can find a trending paint color to compliment it. Of course, grey is still trending. If you want your new kitchen to look modern, grey cabinets go with many of the featured colors including Uttlerly Blue from Valspar, one of their featured colors.

Bathrooms

White continues to be a trend in bathroom remodeling. If you’re looking for a spa-like feel in your bathroom, choosing a white vanity will give you countless options for paint and tile. Benjamin Moore’s Color of the Year 2020 is called First Light and is described as a soft, rosy hue. Combine this soft color with bold grey tile and a white vanity and you’ll have an amazing looking bathroom with many decorating options.

Exteriors

If you and your home builder are looking at options for your home’s exterior or you’re planning on repainting your home, you’re probably looking at two colors. One as a primary and one as the accent for trim, garage and your entry door. Sherwin William’s Naval, their color of the year, is a great option for the accent. It’s bold but goes with many other colors from tans to greys to white.
